Deceased Name: Baruch Aaron Margalit

Baruch Aaron Margalit, 53, of San Luis Obispo, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at a local hospital. A graveside service will be held at noon today at Los Osos Valley Mortuary, officiated by Rabbi Lon Moskowitz.

Mr. Margalit was born in Chicago and moved to Israel in 1969 where he became an Israeli paratrooper. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Haifa University and his master's and doctorate from Georgia State University in clinical psychology. Baruch moved to the Central Coast in 1987 to take a position with Atascadero State Hospital and eventually opened a private practice in clinical psychology.

He was an active member of Temple Ner Shalom, where he served on the board, and the Jewish Community Center of SLO. He also served as president of the Central Coast Psychological Association.

Baruch is survived by wife Etti, son Nachshon, daughter Idit, from San Luis Obispo; mother Rahel and brother Jonathan from Israel; sister Nancy from Germany; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
